What is Colour Therapy?

Colour therapy utilises the unconscious and conscious language of colour to alter moods, reduce stress, creating harmony to improve well being and health. It also utilises the vibrational energies of colour contained in light that are essential for health. It’s therapeutic qualities are easy to access, as we all have an affinity to colour.

What Is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the application of essential oils (extracted from plants) through massage, vapourisation, inhalation, compresses, and baths to the body.


How Does It Work?

When essential oils are absorbed through the skin and respiratory system they then:

  • Relax
  • Refresh
  • Revitalise
  • Reduce and numb Pain
  • Help wounds to heal
  • Fortify our immunity
  • Regulate and balance our systems
  • Strengthen and stimulate
  • Improve circulation and lymphatic drainage
  • Their aromas can banish cares, sorrow, calm emotions, and inspire

Aromatherapy is very comprehensive and versatile in alleviating dis-ease in both body and mind. Remarkably some oils can both relax and fight infection in the body; whilst remaining a very pleasant sensory experience. Most people can benefit from aromatherapy, but circumstances do exist where permission would have to be sort from your doctor as in the case of cancer patients; and those following a course of homeopathy should not have any aromatherapy sessions until they finish their course.


Treatments

Maxine provides full or partial body massages and the body can be bathed in a suitable light to aid a specific aliment during massage. Please state upon making an appointment if you wish to combine a colour treatment. Blends are made fresh and tailor made for you using quality oils.

Specific blends can be created for yourself or loved ones as gifts. Please order two to four weeks in advance to enable the blend to mature to some extent.


How Long Is A Session? And What Do I Need To Do?

The first session is approximately one and half hours long ( for your first colour treatment) ,subsequent sessions will be a hour long. Aromatherapy treatments will be approximately 1 hour long in duration, however partial massages will be 20mins to 30mins in duration. A minimum of four sessions is normally recommended ,as the manifestation of an illness has normally accumulated over several years. Please bring a white top for a colour treatment. For some treatments you may have to remove your outer garments (light treatments in particular, and for massages).Try not to attend a session with a full stomach.
