John Wolstenholme

John specialises in helping people diagnosed with cancer using techniques of relaxation and guided imagery. I also help people to overcome phobias, fears, eating and sports performance and many other emotional issues.

John's Professional Training

John’s first course in complementary therapy was in 1981, and this progressed to practitioner level training in the mid-1990s. He gained a diploma in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, and in 2002 he established the Winchester Hypnotherapy Practice to help people to overcome eating disorders, phobias, sports performance issues and problems where emotions are involved.

John holds many professional-level and academically-accredited qualifications, including both a Diploma and a Certificate in Life Coaching, and a Certificate from the internationally-renowned Penny Brohn Cancer Care organisation (he received academic accreditation from the University of the West of England for this work).

John is very pleased and excited to learn that in October 2007 he is being presented with the inaugural Penny Brohn Merit Award for his approach to supporting people living with cancer.

John’s mission with people living with cancer...

"Not many people realise that there are powerful mind-body techniques offering many benefits to people diagnosed with cancer, and these techniques are supported by high quality research and evidence. I feel very passionately that I want to bring the benefits of these techniques to as many people as possible."
